50 CENT has taken a sly swipe at rap rival JAY-Z, insisting the 99 PROBLEMS hitmaker was a “no one” until he wed BEYONCE KNOWLES.
Superstar Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, wed the Bootylicious beauty in April (08), and 50 Cent claims it was their union – not the rap mogul’s music – that raised his profile on the international scene.
He says, “I’m a big fan of Jay-Z, but outside of the States and hip-hop circles, no one really knew who he was until he married Beyonce.”
50 might be exaggerating a little, but marrying Beyonce definitely helped Jay’s image overseas. In alot of countries I have been to he is known as Beyonce’s boyfriend. But to be fair he did go on a world tour, there are american artist who sells more records then Jay who cannot even go on world tour. I think 50 is a little jealous. I mean he is dating Ciara and nobody really cares. He has just as much money as Jay and he still cannot get into the same social circles.
